Stone Plants (Lithops)

One of my all time favourite houseplants! So unusual and a great conversation starter for an office or living space

Great for beginners because they need so little care 

• a type of succulent so water very little, make sure soil is bone dry and soak once per month. No water in winter 
• very slow growing
• Must be in a window with direct light 
• 2 thick leaves and roots in the soil
• new leaves in spring come out through the old 2 and the old ones die off
• sometimes a flower can come up between the leaves in autumn and winter
• they're tough!! Can deal with warmth or cold
• focus plant
• create interest in your space and watch them change with the seasons, help boost mood
